Great job guys! I fell in love with your brew at the Avila Beer Festival (CA) in 2007 and finally found a local distributer. As a fan of mate for nearly 10 years it was very refreshing find the Chico gang at the festival. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Love beer, love mate, really love mateveza! I don’t like drinking beer during the day bc alc is a downer but with matevesa I can drink it at the beach before a surf or camping during the day. It has a wonderful taste, good job!!

Love it. And look forward to more herbal beers. They not only taste great but with hops costing so much herbal brews will soon be where its at!

I had a negative experience at MOC (Market of Choice) 29th & Willamette. I am 56, when I asked the “beer girl” if they carried your product she said, “No, It tastes like dirt”. She sent me a another store that did not carry it wasting more of my time.
I am a beer maker (homebrewer) and have always wanted to make a combo hops/mate brew. I will give Columbia a call.

PS I like dirt

I tried the beer at the 2008 GABF. It was wonderful. Nice and refreshing. I’m a big mate fan and to have it in the beer was unique and quite tasty!

Thanks for making a great beer, the yerbamate seems to compliment the hops flavor very nicely.
However, mate does not actually have caffeine, it is a xanthine similar to caffeine, but superior, in that you can drink mass quantities and not get the jitters. This xanthine has been dubbed mateine. Just wanted to let you know that your label is somewhat misleading.
I like your product so much that i had the beer and wine guy at my local store start carrying your brand. Thanks

RamG is correct - the xanthine is in the same family as caffeine but very different in effect on the human body - noticably that it is missing the “crash” that caffeine gives. This misunderstanding happens often.
A review of the beer - love it. Has a strong taste - which is understandable considering mate is a somewhat earthy tea. Been drinking mate and beer for many years, never thought of the combo.
Highly recommend trying this fine brew, and since I’m from Cali, I enjoy supporting local brewmasters.
